Nutrient series #6- Vitamins

Hey, I hope you guys are still here

I still have to talk about 2 more important nutrients from our Nutrients series.

As you can see from the title and that huge image above, this blog is about Vitamins.

Well, Vitamins are Micronutrients. These are needed in small quantities (just like minerals) and these are essential for various functions, which you will learn through this blog.

I know, you never asked why this blog got delayed. But, still, I have the itch to tell you that, I wanted this blog to be different, and I tried to keep all the blogs of the series different from each other. So, to give you something different, I made something that I’m sure you will love (even if you don’t can you please pretend?).

Coming back to Vitamins (Guys you distract me a lot). Vitamins are classified into 2 categories.

Fat-soluble- Vitamins that dissolve in Fats and oil.

And Water-Soluble- Vitamins that dissolve in water.

Now, I have already talked about the importance of Fats and Water, and if for some reason you haven’t read them yet, well-read them first (I’ll share links below).

Okay, check this out to know more about Fat-soluble vitamins (Now is the time to adjust the screen brightness of your device). ⇉

There are 2 more brothers of vitamin D, D2, and D3. Let’s discuss them in the future because I don’t want to complicate things right now.

Water-soluble Vitamins are majorly dominated by types of vitamin B. Scientists went berserk while naming these. Don’t panic, I got you covered. Let’s quickly learn their functions ⇉

And some more…..

Vitamin B7 is also called vitamin H

The reason why I am not mentioning the recommended quantity of vitamins you need per day is because, it will be too much information. However, feel free to ask in the comments.

FGW

And finally, how can we forget vitamin C ⇉

There’s another Vitamin, vitamin P. These are anti-oxidants called flavonoids. These have anti-inflammatory properties.

I know you are curious about if you are deficient in any vitamin or not. Don’t worry, get your blood tested and you will get the answers. If you are eating a healthy diet that includes Green veggies, fresh fruits, whole grains, nuts, and seeds, then you need not to worry about taking any supplements.

It is believed that eating meat, eggs, and fish is the only way to get certain vitamins, but I hope I am clear enough that vitamins can be obtained easily from fruits and veggies. Two of my favorite bloggers are vegan and last time I checked they are not deficient on any vitamins.

Again FGW

That’s pretty much it for this blog. Drop comments if you learned something new today, if you didn’t drop a Hi simply.

We will meet on the final blog of this series and till then Keep shining.

Nutrient Series #1- Carbohydrates

Nutrients are organic substances that are required by our body for many essential functions. There are 2 types, Micronutrients & Macronutrients Micronutrients are required in less quantity. Minerals and vitamins fall in this category. While, MacroNutrients are nutrients that are required in larger quantities. Carbohydrates, water, proteins, fibers, and fats fall in this category. In…

I know that many people don’t believe in taking Vitamins, they say they are ineffective, but I personally know that I wouldn’t have been able to restore my health from having lived with chronic Shingles, the pain it caused, and the chronic sleep deprivation that pain creates had I not been taking a multitude of different supplements for my immune system! Keep preaching!

  14. Hi Devang. Thank you for such valuable and helpful words about vitamins. I love the way you use your infographics to get more meaning and interest across to the reader. It’s always very effective.

I had no idea there was a vitamin P – something new I’ve learned today. I also didn’t realise the effects of a lack of vitamin C, apart from a few obvious ones. I had no idea it was linked to dental or heart problems. Fortunately, I get a lot of vitamin C as I eat loads of fruit and vegetables, possibly more so than many people as I’m vegan. Thank you, too, for mentioning me in one of your comments and for saying that vegans can get all their nutrients from their diet as well as meat eaters. Already looking forward to your next post – they’re always so interesting, even if it does take me a while to reply to you. I like to read your posts more than once to make sure I’ve absorbed the information properly. Thanks again, my friend. 😊

    1. Hi
      Sorry for responding late.
I am wasting a lot of my time on unimportant things.
This is also a reason why I am unable to read your new post. I feel really sorry about that.
      .
Hey so you noticed that I mentioned you ! Haha
My intention was to tell people that a vegan diet, can also give all the sufficient nutrients.
      .
I really love making infographics, but sadly these are not much appreciated here.
My idea was to be unique, as not many are doing it. But you are among those few who complimented them, so thank you.
      .
You please take care of your health. I’ll see you soon on your post.

      1. Please don’t worry about being late reading my posts, my friend. You know I’m always late catching up with everyone – we all have a non-blogging lives to get on with, too. I’m glad you commented that vegan diets can contain all the nutrients we need. There are so many people who think otherwise.

I love your infographics, as you know. It makes your posts stand out amongst the usual style of publishing posts and your valuable information. I’m very surprised to hear that not many people mention them. I think it is indeed unique. I hope you are well. I am okay, although my asthma is bad at the moment. I have inhalers to use, which help 😊.

      2. Well I get notifications of your latest blogs and honestly I always get excited to receive them. 🤩
My silly mistake is, I postpone it for the future 😭.
        .
It could be a good blog topic, where you can talk about how vegan diet is super helpful. Consider this a friendly suggestion from my side. Trust me it will be fun. Because it will change the pace and with your writing talent, you can easily write a blog regarding this.
It need not to be research based, just experience based.
        .
I started making infographics, cover images because it was hard to find pics relevant to my needs.
These images are however time consuming to make, but also I want make fun experience for everyone. I believe this was, people will remember my blog.
        .
Please take care. Have you ever tried pranayama?
